About Towne is a biweekly half-hour arts series that highlights Irving’s excellent local artists and craftsmen, entertainment venues and arts organizations. It also serves the viewing audience by publicizing upcoming concerts, performances, festivals and events.

We’ll bring you highlights from the Dragon Boat, Kite and Lantern Festival and we’ll check out the winners of this year’s Dragon Boat Races. We’ll pig out at Taste of Irving 2018 and we’ll meet some of the artists featured in the 33rd annual Texas & Neighbors Regional Art Exhibition. Plus, we’ll get the details on this year’s Juneteenth celebration and we’ll learn about the Irving Parks Department Master Plan.

Next time on About Towne we’ll have highlights from Canal Fest 2018. We’ll visit  Empa Mundo for a taste of Argentina. Then we’ll check out the 2018 Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show at Oakview Baptist Church. And we’ll talk with Greg Ellis about his post-Cowboys endeavors on a different playing field, the stage. Plus, we’ll have all the details on the city’s Independence Day celebration.
