The City of Irving Water Utilities Department will be performing an audit of the city's existing water meters. As part of this project, all existing water meters will be reviewed to determine age, make and model, and condition, with an evaluation for the need of replacement.
The city has contracted with Mountain States Pipe and Supply (MSPS) of Colorado Springs, Colorado for this project. All audit and field installation work will be performed by this contractor or City of Irving employees. The company will provide water meter installation labor services in tandem with City staff through June 1, 2019, weather permitting.
For this project, the contractor will work alongside the city's meter reading staff to assure a smooth audit during our normal reading schedules. This will help eliminate the misreading of meters for billing.
For safety reasons, do not allow an unidentified installer to enter your home. The city has required background checks on all of the installers in order to help maintain safety. All installation team members will wear a Mountain States Pipe and Supply (MSPS) ID badge (see example), identifying each installer as a City of Irving outside contractor. The badge also will identify the installer as a meter or ERT installer. In addition, installers also have been issued temporary City of Irving ID badges that have a black background.
Customers are urged not to let anyone into their home without a prescheduled appointment and verification of the presence of the City of Irving ID badge.
